Keeping Brake Pad Bonding Rock-Solid, 24/7
On the brake pad line, the adhesive bond is where things can get wobbly. So we built a custom infrared module that zeroes in on the one variable that messes with consistency: heat. The aim is straightforward—run all day, every day, with zero power hiccups. This isn’t some delicate lab toy. It runs on industrial power specs to wipe out the sag you get from standard 230V gear. It’s built to handle the heavy current needed for fast heat-up. It lives on the factory floor, where voltage dips and long shifts are just part of the rhythm.
The Specs That Make Uptime Happen
At the heart is a high-density infrared source, engineered to deliver steady output. It hits bonding temperature fast, then locks the setpoint without drifting. We go with a 400V setup as standard. That lowers the current on the wiring, which cuts resistive losses and keeps terminals cooler. The payoff? Stable power, shift after shift. The footprint is matched to the line. The heater length and concentrated hot zone fit the brake pad geometry. That focus keeps heat off the fixture, which saves energy and prevents the machine from expanding when things get hot. But with that kind of power comes heat density. So your cooling and airflow need to be properly set up. If the air around the module warms up, the control system has to work harder to hold the temperature.
Built to Take the Factory Beating
We use a quartz tube with a halogen fill. It starts up fast and stays tight on control. The filament holds steady at high temperatures, so output doesn’t fade over thousands of cycles. The R7s connector is standard. It’s an industrial fit that locks in solid, with good contact pressure and repeatable alignment. You wire it once, and it stays put—even with the vibration from conveyors and presses. We also add a reflective coating. It throws energy forward, so more heat lands on the pad and less gets wasted into the frame. That boosts efficiency and keeps nearby components cooler.
How It Performs on the Brake Pad Line
In brake pad bonding, the adhesive needs a precise temperature window. Too cool, and the bond fails. Too hot, and the friction material takes damage. Our infrared module hits that sweet spot and holds it, cycle after cycle. The result is repeatable bond strength and far fewer rejects. It drops in as a direct replacement and runs 24/7 without power dips. It takes the daily pounding of high-volume production. For your line, that means less downtime, fewer parameter drifts, and output you can set and forget.
