Do yourself a favor and double-check your wiring and relays. If they aren’t rated for this kind of load, you’re just asking for a burnout. We went with carbon fiber filaments because they can handle way more current than tungsten. It’s not just about getting hot—it’s about pushing that energy out into the world more effectively. The Build We wrap those filaments in high-purity quartz glass. This keeps the heat from leaking out and makes sure the radiation goes exactly where you want it. Carbon fiber is a beast in high-cycle environments. It stays stable even when things get extreme, which means it can take a real beating. Just a heads-up, though: that quartz glass is brittle. If your machine vibrates a lot or if someone bumps the lamp during install, it’ll crack. Be gentle with them. Putting Them to Work You’ll mostly see these in PET blowing, plastic welding, or drying tunnels. The fast ramp-up time is the real win here because it chops down your cycle times. Plus, the wavelength these lamps use actually penetrates deeper into materials, rather than just scorching the surface. One last tip: 1500W creates some intense, localized heat. If you’ve got plastic housings or sensitive sensors nearby, don’t risk it. Throw in some heat shields or set up some active cooling so you don’t end up with a warped chassis.
